Editorial staff are often expected to become skilled in running social media accounts, to build both personal and company brands. But what are the potential ethical and legal issues they need to be mindful of?

Professor Chris Frost, Professor of Journalism at Liverpool John Moores University and Chair of the NUJ Ethics Council will join us this month, to explain the key issues for journalists to use social media safely and effectively. With time for questions and discussion.

Branch motions

The branch received the following motion for debate this month:

 

Donation to George Viner Memorial Fund

 

London Magazine Branch notes the excellent work done by the NUJ through the Fund to broaden diversity in media workplaces, and previous commitments by the Branch to make a regular donation.

The Branch resolves to donate £500 to the Fund to this end.
