Preparation for Delegate Meeting 2023

This month’s meeting will be devoted to preparing for DM 2023, the NUJ’s national conference, due to be held in London on 28-30 April 2023.

This will involve discussion of branch motions for the forthcoming Delegate Meeting and nominations for Councils and DM-elected bodies.

Motions and nominations need to be submitted by 1pm Wednesday 16 November.

Proposed motions for discussion are posted on the London Magazine Branch website here.

These include important proposals on boosting recruitment to the union, more important than ever as our workplace rights are increasingly threatened. There are also proposed motions on women’s rights, countering anti-union legislation, the cost-of-living crisis and media diversity. DM will be an important opportunity to debate how we as part of the wider trades union movement should respond to these attacks. Please come and join in the discussion and have your say on what motions to put forward.

Councils and bodies the Branch can nominate delegates for:

• National Executive Council
• NUJ Councils – Magazine and Books Industrial Council and Ethics Council
• DM Elected bodies – Equality council; Health and Safety Committee; Disabled members; NUJ Extra; Journalist Editorial Advisory Board; 60+ Pensioners committee; Professional Training Committee; Standing Orders Committee.
