Our May branch meeting will be an organising meeting with a report-back from the NUJās biennial Delegate Meeting from the branch delegates, including motions and policy agreed at the Conference that we will be planning work on.
We will also plan future meeting topics ā currently the following speaker topics are planned but please do feed back your ideas and requests for other topics and any workshops you would like the branch to run.
Ā· The future of funding models for magazine publishing
Ā· Media representation and democracy
Ā· Pay rate disclosure campaign
Ā· Use and impact of AI in magazine and journal publishing
Ā· Update from the new NUJ General Secretary
Ā· Future relationship with the EU and trade unionism
Plus usual branch business, including workplace reports.

NUJ London Magazine Branch Meeting ā Monday 20 January 2025
6.30pm, hybrid: NUJ, Headland House (72 Acton St, London WC1X 9NB) and online.Happy New Year! Our first branch meeting of 2025 will focus on agreeing amendments to motions for the 2025Ā Delegate MeetingĀ (DM) –Ā theĀ NUJ’s biennialĀ nationalĀ congress.Ā
The preliminary agenda for DM 2025 has now been published and is available here.
The branch will be going through the motions to agree amendments in particular to those motions chosen for debate over those submitted by the Branch.
This is a chance for our members to influence the debate at DM and ensure full representation of members in our sector so please join and have your say.
Amendments to motions must be submitted to the Union’s DM organising committee by 28 February.
As always, please RSVP if you’re attending in person to help with arranging refreshments.
