  • NUJ London Magazine Branch AGM – Today 16 Mar

    Our guest speaker is journalist and author Yvonne Ridley – on the war in Iran/Middle East and journalists. 

    Next Monday sees our annual general meeting. Please make every effort to attend – it is your union! Hear reports from the last year and the challenges and opportunities ahead to build magazine membership and activity.

    Before we start the formal AGM business we will have a speaker on the Iran war and journalists (speaker tbc).

    NUJ LMB Summer Social – 17 July, London

    Join us for our Summer Social next Thursday 17 July from 6.30 pm, for a relaxed and friendly gathering to connect, unwind and celebrate the summer! 🍉 🍹

    Whether you’re a long-time member or just getting involved, it’s a great chance to meet colleagues, share stories and build our community.

    Dear Members

    Our May branch meeting will be an organising meeting with a report-back from the NUJ’s biennial Delegate Meeting from the branch delegates, including motions and policy agreed at the Conference that we will be planning work on.

    We will also plan future meeting topics – currently the following speaker topics are planned but please do feed back your ideas and requests for other topics and any workshops you would like the branch to run.

    ·      The future of funding models for magazine publishing

    ·      Media representation and democracy

    ·      Pay rate disclosure campaign

    ·      Use and impact of AI in magazine and journal publishing

    ·      Update from the new NUJ General Secretary

    ·      Future relationship with the EU and trade unionism

    Plus usual branch business, including workplace reports.

    All welcome – please do join and have your say in agreeing Branch policy and work for the year ahead.
